Fall Vegetable Gardening

FreeDescription: It’s time to plant your fall vegetables! In this introductory class, you’ll learn how to select seeds and seedlings that are most suited to your climate and conditions. Then you’ll learn how to plant seeds and seedlings and how to nurture them to yield the most bountiful fall and winter harvests. As a bonus, you’ll also gain valuable tips on crop rotation, cover cropping and non-toxic pest control.
Presenter Master Gardener: Carolyn Dorsch
Biography: Carolyn has always had a deep admiration and affinity forall plants, marveling at their incredible ability to survive and thrive in a myriad of conditions. She enjoys seeing plants in their natural habitat, in all seasons, and applies her knowledge of how California natives grow in the wild in order to cultivate them in the garden. An avid vegetable gardener, Carolyn plants a garden every year and enjoys learning new techniques and trying out new varieties. Additionally, she is a Master Composter and a beginner beekeeper.
Presenter Master Gardener: Naomi Mier
Biography: Naomi is a Master Gardener (2020) and Master Composter (2020). She enjoys all aspects of vegetable gardening: seed saving, seed starting, growing, harvesting, preserving and sharing. She also has interests in companion planting and most recently became enchanted with California natives.
