Unlocking the Magic of Native Plants in Your Garden

Description: This workshop, designed with the home gardener in mind, will explore the magic and beauty of California native plants, discuss how vital they are for our pollinators and wildlife, and discover how to add California native plants to existing home gardens. We hope attendees will be inspired by this informational session and begin to appreciate and add native plants to their gardens.

This class is offered in partnership with San Mateo County Libraries.

UC Master Gardener Presenter Melissa Mason: Melissa has a degree in Biology from UC Davis and has been a Master Gardener since 2015. She specializes in California Native Plants. In 2019 Melissa initiated and led the San Carlos Native Plant Habitat Garden Project where Master Gardeners planted more than 80 species of native plants in an 8000 sq ft park area in San Carlos. Currently, Melissa and her team are researching and developing informational “Plant Notes” for native plants and making them available to the public online.

Registration is required.
