Unlocking the Multiple Benefits of Tree Canopy (Online)

June 24, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Image shows someone's hands planting a small plant in the ground. In the upper left corner, there is a sun logo that reads "Climate Ready"

The County’s Extreme Heat Task Force invites you to a one-hour conversation about Leveraging data, partnerships, and policy to unlock the multiple benefits of tree canopy  for under-resourced and formerly redlined communities in San Mateo County. Three stellar presenters will showcase a new San Mateo County tree dashboard that will enable jurisdictions to prioritize hyperlocal areas for tree planting, a case study of the partnership between an urban forestry nonprofit and the City of East Palo Alto, and a recent San Francisco Estuary Institute report on the benefits of tree planting as a stormwater management strategy.
