Rain Barrel Installation Workshop

Sunday, October 1, 2017 - 1:00pm to 5:00pm

Who: Interested in learning how to catch rain water from your roof for your garden? Children under 12 require an accompanying adult unless prior approval is obtained from the workday supervisor.

What: Learn how to install rain barrels for your home by helping us install some at the Animal Services Center in Palo Alto. Then, do it at home to save hundreds of gallons of municipal water so fish in the Tuolumne River can use it instead! Water with chlorine-free rainwater that plants love. Slow downspout water and reduce flooding and recharge groundwater. All ages are welcome at this hands-on workshop!

Where: We'll meet at the Palo Alto Animal Services Center at 3281 East Bayshore Road.

Please bring: A reusable water bottle and dress for outdoor work (sturdy shoes and long pants recommended). We provide gloves, tools, and snacks.
